If we go back in time, and turn the pages of history or read from the literature of the early eighteenth century or even before that then we shall see, there have been myriad poets who have portrayed the beauty of man and woman’s earthly relationship into their verses and poems. And as amorous it could be the truth is undeniable that even the ‘Gods’ made love, thus this human emotion or aphrodisiac impulse has been nonetheless passed on to us from the heavens. Plethora therefore defiantly depicts the same divine sacrament of man woman liaison as well as the eternal love between the two.
‘God’ the omnipresent artist upon the earth, has created the human body such that it looks most beautiful when joyous and when in love. Thus, Plethora speaks of that pious, buoyant and corporeal love through verses, prose, short stories and much more with utmost sobriety and grace. But most significantly, Plethora is an attempt to keep alive the lineage that our mothers and their mothers have passed on to us. It aims to take that lineage forward on the shoulders of many women writers and poets as a responsibility to keep that aura of Indian womanhood alive. Plethora therefore would celebrate Indian womanhood in its every step and will share the journey of those many women through their candid writings and poems.
